Hunt Thurman Production Receives High Praise

Author Jan Pippins and actor Henry Darrow were in Tucson, Arizona from March 23-25 for The High Chaparral cast reunion. Sue Thurman and Todd Hunt of Hunt-Thurman Productions acted as host for Ms Pippins and Mr. Darrow. The following account from Jan Pippins highlights how things went.

Thursday in Tucson - busy but fun! Thanks to wonderful Ken Carr at K
GUN and our super special friends with Hunt-Thurman Productions, it was TV taping time at KGUN TV Studios.
Mike and I picked up Henry at 8:00 AM and vamanos! Off to KGUN to meet Todd Hunt and Sue Thurman. We had a scenic tour of Tucson, driving from one end to the other in (for us) very light rush hour traffic - Henry enjoyed seeing parts of the city he hadn't seen in a while (Lauren opted to stay at the hotel and get some much-needed R & R).
At the studio, we had a very smooth taping for the Zorro documentary - Henry of course is always a pro - he was impressed with how professional Todd and Sue are - everything ran like silk (these folks seriously know their stuff!). Of course, I was impressed too, but it takes a lot more to impress Henry since he (unlike me) actually knows what it is that people are supposed to be doing. After the Zorro taping, Henry and I shot a segment for KGUN "Morning Blend" to promote Henry's biography, "Henry Darrow: Lightning in the Bottle." Ken, the "Morning Blend" hosts and the crew were excellent to work with and the segment was a delight to shoot. Everyone was so accommodating, the whole morning was a real pleasure.
After taping wrapped, we drove Henry back to Casino del Sol so he could rest a bit. Mike and I had checked out of Lodge on the Desert and couldn't check into Casino del Sol until after lunch, so we had some great down-home cooking at a nearby Mexican restaurant, then drove out to the San Xavier reservation. We've both seen San Xavier de Bac several times, so this time we went to the tribe's farm cooperative to see what they had. (Well worth it, beautiful produce and other things we weren't familiar with like alfalfa honey).
Last night we had dinner with Sue Thurman and Todd Hunt of Hunt-Thurman Productions and Sue's son Matt - we all stayed up WAY too late and laughed until we were hoarse. Sue and Todd know everyone in the world, have worked with some amazing actors and actresses and have a zillion great "inside show biz" stories. A great day and great evening!
More later, time now to get busy on THIS day :-)
